Each 401(k) plan is different and your plan's rules depend on what your company selected when they setup the plan.
You can find all the rules of your 401(k) plan in the Summary Plan Description. This includes explanations about the eligibility requirements, service requirements, contribution types, distributions, etc.

Where is the Summary Plan Description?
After logging in, click My Documents in the top menu.
Scroll down to Plan Documents.
Keep scrolling until you see Summary Plan Description and click the blue PDF icon to download it.
